Top Kitchen Appliances For Cooking

Cooking has advanced from the caveman days of cooking on the open fire, and now there are many appliances that assist us in preparing our daily meals. There is certain kitchenware that every home needs and some that chefs could not go without. Here is a list of the top kitchen appliances needed for cooking in your home.

Cook Top or stove-
This, alongside the oven is the most valuable resource one can use in their kitchen. Stoves are designed to heat a specific area and are the most basic method of heat (besides a fire). Common cook-tops run on electricity and gas, the fuel burning stove the most basic form of any kitchen.

In cooking, one would use the cook-top to heat or fry foods in pots or pans. Food normally cooked on the stove can be anything from meats and vegetables to heating up liquids.

Oven-
The oven is a kitchen appliance used for roasting and heating foods. Meat and casseroles are usually the most common food cooked, although ovens are good for baking breads, cakes and desserts.

Cooking ovens have come a long way since the beginning, now powered from gas or electricity rather than wood or coal. Ovens heat from below in order to provide a more even heat to cook foods.

Microwave-
These have become the lazy man’s oven. You can cook almost anything in a microwave and they usually are a lot faster than the cook-top or oven. The microwave works by using microwave radiation to heat water and other polarized molecules within food.

Microwaves work by heating the foods quickly, but doesn’t brown or bake foods the way ovens do. This means that you cannot cook some foods in the microwave if you wish to get the best effects. Although it is faster than the oven, microwaving foods comes with potential health risks and safety issues have been raised. You can use them for cooking objects, but using it everyday may have dangerous side effects to your health.
